Ica and the Huacachina

Ica is a beautiful city located in the southern part of Peru, in the middle of a green valley surrounded by the desert. This wonderful city stands out thanks to its warm climate, gorgeous white sand dunes and to a mysterious lagoon, known by the locals as Huacachina. On this spot visitors may explore the surroundings of the lagoon or go for a ride with buggies out in the desert and practice one of the ultimate sports in our country “Sandboarding”.

This city also has one of the best museums of our country, “The Regional Museum”, which displays stunning relics and mummies bundles from the various cultures that flourished in the south of Peru, including the Paracas, Nazca, Wari and Inca Culture. Buggy Tours In Huancachina Oasis

Description:

Our tour starts at the Oasis La Huacachina, from this point we will drive up towards the west, where the most beautiful dune formations are found. We will drive across Ica’s desert in a 4x4 buggy vehicle, and will make many stops along the way for pictures. The desert of Ica is the most beautiful in our country and, offers stunning landscapes, not only of sand dunes, but also of the Huacachina lagoon, from above. There will be many points where you will have the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of one of most popular sports in Ica “Sandboarding”. Our driver will take us to the summit of some dunes, and from the very top you will be able to slide down the dune. Before you start to sand surf, our guide/instructor will teach you specific techniques to ensure a safety ride. There are actually plenty spots to sandboard around Huacachina Oasis, with a wide variety of dunes, suitable for the very beginners, as well as for professional sand boarders. Keep in mind that on this tour you will not have to walk up the dunes to go for a second or a third ride, our driver will do all the lifting job for you. As you can see………..it will be very easy and cool. The whole tour will take about 2 hours, so at the end clients are dropped off at the Huacachina Oasis.

You need to bring:

  • On this tour you can wear light clothing as it is very hot out in the desert, especially if doing this excursion during summer time, from december to march, when temperatures may reach 40ºC.
  • Sun block to avoid sun burning, sun glasses and a cap.
